I first got actively involved in motor racing for a living in the year that James Hunt became the Formula 1 World Champion. I worked for Team Surtees in Edenbridge until the end of 1978. From there I joined 'The Horseless Carriage Company' in Brighton to build and prepare FF2000 Delta chassis both for customers and works use. During that time I met Bill Cowling who took delivery of a Delta in F4 format, I looked after his Delta and his subsequent racers for a good few years having a very enjoyable foray into British club racing during that time.

Early on in the eighties I started with Crosthwaite and Gardiner changing from current race car preparation to restoring and recreating classic racers (plenty of photos in the gallery). I have been, some would say, fortunate to work on some really 'tasty old motors'. During the time spent at C&G I have worked on a varied selection of makes, including Lotus, Lola, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes, Delahaye, Cooper, Brabham, Bugatti, Tojeiro, HWM, Bentley,Napier Railton and Auto Union.

I have spent the greatest 'lump' of time on what amounts to one project which is the rebuilding and recreating of the series of Auto Union 'Silver Arrows' (hence the somewhat large proportion of the gallery being taken by Auto Union pictures). The cars have all been put together in as close a manner to the originals as is possible. The mountain climb car from Riga in Latvia was almost completely intact so gave us an extremely accurate model to go by. There is loads of printed info on the cars published so I will say no more ( try some links).
